Oath of office

An Oath of Office is a sworn statement/oath a person takes before officially assuming the office.

An oath of office is administered at a swearing in ceremony[?] and, most of the time (in Western countries), sworn with one hand on the bible.

In the United States, the oath of office for the President is specified in the Constitution. The oath may be sworn or affirmed.
