# Nuclear magneton

The nuclear magneton (symbol $\mu_p$), is a physical constant of magnetic moment[?], defined by:

$\mu_p = {{e \hbar} \over {2 m_p}}$
where:
$e$ is the elementary charge,
$\hbar$ is the Dirac's constant,
$m_p$ is the proton rest mass

In the SI system of units it's value is approximately:

$\mu_p$ = 5.050 786 6(17) × 10-24 J·T-1
