Newhall is a city located in Benton County, Iowa. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 886.

Geography Newhall is located at 41°59'38" North, 91°57'59" West (41.994010, -91.966523)1.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 0.8 km² (0.3 mi²). 0.8 km² (0.3 mi²) of it is land and none of it is covered by water.

Demographics As of the census of 2000, there are 886 people, 360 households, and 245 families residing in the city. The population density is 1,140.3/km² (2,966.2/mi²). There are 368 housing units at an average density of 473.6/km² (1,232.0/mi²). The racial makeup of the city is 100.00% White, 0.00% African American, 0.00% Native American, 0.00% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.00% from other races, and 0.00% from two or more races. 0.68% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.

There are 360 households out of which 33.9% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 61.1% are married couples living together, 4.4% have a female householder with no husband present, and 31.9% are non-families. 27.5% of all households are made up of individuals and 17.5% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.46 and the average family size is 3.02.

In the city the population is spread out with 27.2% under the age of 18, 6.9% from 18 to 24, 26.2% from 25 to 44, 18.7% from 45 to 64, and 21.0% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 39 years. For every 100 females there are 88.9 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 88.0 males.

The median income for a household in the city is $43,269, and the median income for a family is $51,250. Males have a median income of $35,250 versus $29,167 for females.
