New Lisbon is a city located in Juneau County, Wisconsin. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 1,436.

Geography New Lisbon is located at 43°52'37" North, 90°9'57" West (43.877032, -90.165908)1.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 7.4 km² (2.8 mi²). 6.9 km² (2.7 mi²) of it is land and 0.5 km² (0.2 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 6.67% water.

Demographics As of the census of 2000, there are 1,436 people, 617 households, and 383 families residing in the city. The population density is 207.7/km² (538.6/mi²). There are 690 housing units at an average density of 99.8/km² (258.8/mi²). The racial makeup of the city is 97.42% White, 0.21% African American, 0.63% Native American, 0.56% Asian, 0.07% Pacific Islander, 0.28% from other races, and 0.84% from two or more races. 1.39% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.

There are 617 households out of which 27.9% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 47.5% are married couples living together, 10.0% have a female householder with no husband present, and 37.8% are non-families. 32.3% of all households are made up of individuals and 14.6% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.33 and the average family size is 2.93.

In the city the population is spread out with 24.3% under the age of 18, 8.6% from 18 to 24, 27.0% from 25 to 44, 22.6% from 45 to 64, and 17.5% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 38 years. For every 100 females there are 94.8 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 91.0 males.

The median income for a household in the city is $34,479, and the median income for a family is $44,464. Males have a median income of $33,214 versus $20,625 for females. The per capita income for the city is $19,165. 10.6% of the population and 6.5% of families are below the poverty line. Out of the total people living in poverty, 8.3% are under the age of 18 and 14.2% are 65 or older.
