Nearchus

Nearchus (or Nearchos) was a Greek general in the army of Alexander the Great. In India he became the admiral of the Greek fleet that transported part of the army back to the west.

He wrote memoirs of the voyage which have been lost, but it is described by Arrian's Indica.
