Narsil

In J. R. R. Tolkien's fictional universe of Middle-earth, Narsil was the sword of King Elendil of the Dúnedain.

He used it in the Siege of Barad-Dûr and died on top of it and the blade shattered into pieces. The breaking of the blade was essential in the defeat of Sauron.

For Isildur took it and used its shard to cut the One Ring off Sauron's hand. After the death of Isildur in 2 TA the shards where taken to Rivendell.

In 3019 TA Narsil was reforged as the sword Andúril[?] and given to the heir of Isildur, Aragorn.
