Murda Inc.

Redirected from Murda Inc

Murda Inc. is a hip hop record label, owned by rap producer, Irv Gotti. It features many current rap and R&B artists, such as Ja Rule, Ashanti, Vita, Caddillac Tah[?], Charli Baltimore, (formerly) Lil Mo, and most recently, Bobby Brown. Murda Inc is responsible for jump-starting Ashanti's career, as well as for bringing Charli Baltimore and Bobby Brown back into the rap scene in 2002. Both Brown and Baltimore were featured on Ja Rule singles that year, "Thug Lovin'" and "Down Ass Chick," respectfully. They also both plan to eventually release new full-legnth albums on Murda Inc., and Vita's debut is in the works.

After witnessing Murda Inc's string of hits in late 2001 and 2002, and realizing that "featuring" musicians on Murda Inc songs could potentially boost languishing careers, Michael Jackson contacted Gotti in late 2002, in hopes of collaborating with him on Jackson's next album. Lil Mo, meanwhile, left Murda Inc in 2002, after a dispute with Gotti and Rule, whom she believed were devoting all their time and energy to Ashanti's career, while ignoring hers.

Ja Rule has lashed out at Mo on his latest diss tape[?], calling her an ungrateful "bitch". The same tape also bashes 50 Cent, Eminem, Dr. Dre, and Truth Hurts.
