Mozia

Mozia is a small island, in the Trapani province, in Sicily, Italy.

It is just 40 hectares in size and is very ancient: it is one of the most important Phoenician and Carthaginian[?] settlements in the Mediterranean area.

The importance of Mozia is due to it being in the vicinity of Carthage.

The settlement at Mozia was founded in the 8th century BC. It was destroyed by the tyrant of Syracuse Dionysus the Older[?] in 379 BC
