Morgan is a city located in Bosque County, Texas. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 485.

Geography Morgan is located at 32°1'1" North, 97°36'25" West (32.016940, -97.606863)1.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 1.9 km² (0.8 mi²). 1.9 km² (0.8 mi²) of it is land and none of the area is covered with water.

Demographics As of the census of 2000, there are 485 people, 164 households, and 122 families residing in the city. The population density is 249.7/km² (649.3/mi²). There are 197 housing units at an average density of 101.4/km² (263.8/mi²). The racial makeup of the city is 75.26% White, 0.82% African American, 3.71% Native American, 0.00% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 16.70% from other races, and 3.51% from two or more races. 35.26% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.

There are 164 households out of which 39.0% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 56.7% are married couples living together, 12.2% have a female householder with no husband present, and 25.6% are non-families. 23.2% of all households are made up of individuals and 13.4% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.96 and the average family size is 3.49.

In the city the population is spread out with 34.4% under the age of 18, 6.8% from 18 to 24, 26.8% from 25 to 44, 19.8% from 45 to 64, and 12.2% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 32 years. For every 100 females there are 109.1 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 98.8 males.

The median income for a household in the city is $22,188, and the median income for a family is $25,441. Males have a median income of $19,688 versus $20,500 for females. The per capita income for the city is $8,713. 27.6% of the population and 26.2% of families are below the poverty line. Out of the total people living in poverty, 32.4% are under the age of 18 and 15.5% are 65 or older.
