Monometer

In poetry, a monometer is a line of verse with just one metrical foot, exemplified by this portion of Herrick's "Upon His Departure Hence":

Thus I
Passe by,
And die:
As one,
Unknown,
And gone.
 I looked upon the rotting sea,
 And drew my eyes away;
 I looked upon the rotting deck,
 And there the dead men lay.I looked upon the rotting sea,
 And drew my eyes away;
 I looked upon the rotting deck,
 And there the dead men lay.I looked upon the rotting sea,
 And drew my eyes away;
 I looked upon the rotting deck,
 And there the dead men lay.
