Molly Malone

Molly Malone is a fictitious woman, whose 'life story' is told in the unofficial anthem of Dublin City. According to the song, named Molly Malone:

In Dublin's fair city,
where the girls are so pretty,
I first set my eyes on sweet Molly Malone.
As she wheeled her wheel-barrow,
through streets broad and narrow,
crying cockles and muscles,
alive-a-live-oh!

A live-a-live-oh.
A live-a-live-oh.
Crying cockles and muscles,
A live-a-live-oh.

Molly Malone is commemorated in a statue located at the bottom of Grafton Street in Dublin.
