Molecular dynamics

Molecular dynamics (MD) simulation solves Newton's (classical) equation of motion on an atomistic model of a molecule to obtain the trajectory of its motion. The positions of the atoms in the molecule are recorded at selected time points through the simulation; a force field[?] is used to describe the interaction between the atoms.
