MOPE - Most Oppressed People Ever - (politics, satire) - a term in Irish political discourse used to refer to those who believe that no country has ever been as badly treated by any occupying power as Ireland has been treated by Britain. This view, in fact, is rarely articulated in serious debate, but is sometimes implied.
