When Ami was transfered to Serena's school, many students had diffrent opinions about the school's newest genius. Serena thought Ami was "a total snob" and later a minion of the Nega-Verse. After schoo lAmi and Serena become friends despite Luna's warning that Ami could be from the Nega-Verse. Later at Ami's computer class Serena and Luna find out that that she is not from the Nega-Verse but that the teacher of the class was. Luna sees the sign of Mercury on Ami's forehead while the teacher (now in monster form) was holding Ami's head against a computer screen to attain her energy. Luna gives her a transfomation stick after being released by the monster. Ami then transforms into Sailor Mercury and helps Sailor Moon defeat the monster by using her Mercury Bubbles by cofusing it (From "Computer School Blues"). Ami is the brains of the Sailor Scouts, she believes in mind over matter is the way to solve things. With the help of her mini-super computer there is nothing that she can't figure out (most of the time). Ami is probably the shyest of all the scouts and the most anti-social (I think).
