Mishnah Berurah (Clarified Teaching) is a commentary on the Orah Hayyim[?] section of the Shulkhan Arukh by Rabbi Yisroel Meir ha-Kohen, better known as The Chofetz Chaim. (Poland, 1838 - 1933). It is traditionally printed in 6 volumes alongside selected other commentaries. The volume provides simple and current explanatory remarks and citations to daily aspects of halakha. It is widely used as a reference and is accepted as authoritative by Lithuanian Ashkenazi Jews[?] opposed to Hasidism.
