Millry is a town located in Washington County, Alabama. As of the 2000 census, the population of the town is 615.

Geography Millry is located at 31°37'53" North, 88°19'8" West (31.631309, -88.318972)1.

According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 20.1 km² (7.8 mi²). 20.0 km² (7.7 mi²) of it is land and 0.1 km² (0.04 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 0.39% water.

Demographics As of the census of 2000, there are 615 people, 262 households, and 175 families residing in the town. The population density is 30.8/km² (79.7/mi²). There are 301 housing units at an average density of 15.1/km² (39.0/mi²). The racial makeup of the town is 63.41% White, 35.45% African American, 0.81% Native American, 0.00% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.00% from other races, and 0.33% from two or more races. 0.65% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.

There are 262 households out of which 27.1% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 51.1% are married couples living together, 13.4% have a female householder with no husband present, and 33.2% are non-families. 30.9% of all households are made up of individuals and 15.6% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.35 and the average family size is 2.93.

In the town the population is spread out with 22.6% under the age of 18, 9.3% from 18 to 24, 23.1% from 25 to 44, 28.0% from 45 to 64, and 17.1% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 42 years. For every 100 females there are 89.2 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 83.1 males.

The median income for a household in the town is $24,886, and the median income for a family is $32,500. Males have a median income of $36,667 versus $17,917 for females. The per capita income for the town is $14,782. 21.2% of the population and 17.7% of families are below the poverty line. Out of the total people living in poverty, 21.1% are under the age of 18 and 29.2% are 65 or older.
