Midsummer Day

1. That day of the year which has the longest period of daylight (see summer solstice), falling on 22 June in the northern hemisphere and on 21 December in the southern hemisphere.

2. One of the English quarter days, on 24 June, identical with the feast of St John the Baptist[?] in the Christian calendar.
