A Xoloitzcuintle (also spelled Xoloitzcuintli), also known as Tepeizeuintli or Mexican Hairless, is a now rare, almost hairless breed of dog the approximate size of a terrier with an average body temperature of 40°C. The breed was native to Pre-Columbian Mesoamerica, and may date back some 3500 years.

The Aztec and Mayan cultures are believed to have kept this animal as pets.
