Merseybeat

Merseybeat was a style of music popular during the 1960s. It originated in Liverpool, England as a fusion of rock and roll, skiffle and R&B and remained popular only locally until the breakthrough success of the Beatles, Gerry & the Pacemakers and Cilla Black, among others.
