Menilite

Menilite is a reddish-brown form of opal, also known as "liver" opal or leberopal.

Menilite gained its name because it is found in concretions[?] at Menilmontant[?], near Paris. It is brown or grey, and found in Tertiary shale deposits at Menilmontant.
