Demographics As of the census of 2000, there are 151,095 people, 54,542 households, and 42,215 families residing in the county. The population density is 138/km² (358/mi²). There are 56,793 housing units at an average density of 52/km² (135/mi²). The racial makeup of the county is 97.26% White, 0.88% African American, 0.15% Native American, 0.64% Asian, 0.02% Pacific Islander, 0.25% from other races, and 0.80% from two or more races. 0.93% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
There are 54,542 households out of which 37.70% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 66.50% are married couples living together, 7.80% have a female householder with no husband present, and 22.60% are non-families. 18.90% of all households are made up of individuals and 6.90% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.74 and the average family size is 3.15.
In the county, the population is spread out with 27.50% under the age of 18, 7.00% from 18 to 24, 30.60% from 25 to 44, 24.40% from 45 to 64, and 10.50% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 37 years. For every 100 females there are 97.10 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 94.90 males.
