Geography According to the United States Census Bureau, the township has a total area of 66.0 km² (25.5 mi²). 66.0 km² (25.5 mi²) of it is land and none of the area is covered with water.

Demographics As of the census of 2000, there are 1,330 people, 496 households, and 366 families residing in the township. The population density is 20.2/km² (52.2/mi²). There are 550 housing units at an average density of 8.3/km² (21.6/mi²). The racial makeup of the township is 98.50% White, 0.60% African American, 0.23% Native American, 0.08% Asian, 0.30% Pacific Islander, 0.00% from other races, and 0.30% from two or more races. 0.23% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.

There are 496 households out of which 31.5% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 60.5% are married couples living together, 9.1% have a female householder with no husband present, and 26.2% are non-families. 21.2% of all households are made up of individuals and 9.1% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.68 and the average family size is 3.12.
