Marija Gimbutas

Marija Gimbutas, Professor of Archaeology at UCLA, was born 1921 in Lithuania and died in 1994 in Los Angeles, California.

She researched and documented an enormous amount of archaeological findings and by happenstance dug deeper, below the known surface to unearth an overwhelming number of art and daily life objects of Neolithic cultures of Europe.

The list of books written by Marija Gimbutas is long. A previous co-worker, author Joan Marler[?], is continuing in Gimbutas' memory.
