Maplesville is a town located in Chilton County, Alabama. As of the 2000 census, the population of the town is 672.

Geography Maplesville is located at 32°46'54.800" North, 86°52'31.861" West (32.781889, -86.875517).

According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 8.5 km² (3.3 mi²). 8.4 km² (3.3 mi²) of it is land and 0.1 km² (0.04 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 0.91% water.

Demographics As of the census of 2000, there are 672 people, 268 households, and 183 families residing in the town. The population density is 79.6/km² (205.8/mi²). There are 313 housing units at an average density of 37.1/km² (95.9/mi²). The racial makeup of the town is 69.94% White, 29.61% African American, 0.45% Native American, 0.00% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.00% from other races, and 0.00% from two or more races. 0.89% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.

There are 268 households out of which 32.8% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 52.2% are married couples living together, 11.9% have a female householder with no husband present, and 31.7% are non-families. 30.2% of all households are made up of individuals and 12.7% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.51 and the average family size is 3.13.

In the town the population is spread out with 25.3% under the age of 18, 10.1% from 18 to 24, 26.9% from 25 to 44, 23.5% from 45 to 64, and 14.1% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 37 years. For every 100 females there are 95.9 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 88.0 males.

The median income for a household in the town is $27,500, and the median income for a family is $36,250. Males have a median income of $31,042 versus $22,361 for females. The per capita income for the town is $12,777. 20.1% of the population and 12.6% of families are below the poverty line. Out of the total people living in poverty, 26.7% are under the age of 18 and 16.0% are 65 or older.
