Maitreya

Maitreya (Sanskrit, Metteyya Pali), known as the the future Buddha. Recognized in Buddhism.

A Bodhisattva, currently residing in the Tusita deva realm, who will attain Awakening in the best of conditions when the dispensed Dharma of Gautama Buddha becomes corrupted or lost.
