Graphics and web development software house, whose current products include the vector drawing application FreeHand, vector animation application Flash, multimedia authoring application Director, web application server environment ColdFusion[?] and the visual web development application Dreamweaver[?]. Macromedia's main rival is graphics and publishing software company Adobe Systems.

In 2001 Marcomedia merged with Allaire.
