Love Boat

Love Boat was a TV series aired on the ABC Television Network from 1977 until 1986. Action was always set about a cruiseliner called Pacific Princess, whose passengers and crew had romantic and funny adventures every week.

The show was based on the same premise as the 1956-60 television hit, "The Gale Storm Show, Oh! Susanna."

Love Boat is also the colloquial name for a summer camp[?] in Taiwan for about 500 college aged overseas Chinese from the United States, Canada, and Europe each year sponsored by the China Youth Corp[?] through the Republic of China on Taiwan government.

The camps formal purpose is to allow overseas Chinese to understand Chinese cultural, however many overseas Chinese see the camp as an effort by their parents to see that they meet and eventually marry someone who is Chinese, hence the name.
