Lono

Redirected from Lono-i-ka-makahiki

In Polynesian mythology (specifically: Hawaii), Lono is a fertility and music god who descended to Earth on a rainbow to marry Laka.

He was one of the four gods who existed before the world was created. He left Hawaii, and promised to return in a floating island. The Hawaiians believed that Captain James Cook was Lono returned.

Alternative: Lono-i-ka-makahiki
