Linda Gronlund

Linda Gronlund (September 13, 1954 - September 11, 2001), compliance manager. She lived in Greenwood Lake, New York and worked for BMW in Montvale, New Jersey as their environmental compliance manager. Linda grew up in Sag Harbor, New York where she graduated from Pierson High School. She attended Long Island University where she graduated magna cum laude[?] and then attended the Washington School of Law at American University.

Linda was an avid sailer and scuba diver along with holding a brown belt in karate. She was the chief of flagging and communications for the Northern New Jersey Region of the Sports Car Club of America.

Gronlund died at 46 in the crash of United Airlines flight 93 in the September 11, 2001 Terrorist Attack. She was flying to California to tour the vineyards with her boyfriend, Joseph DeLuca. Gronlund and DeLuca had met through their SCCA memberships. Linda was able to call her sister from the plane after the hijackers took over.

She is survived by her mother, Doris; father, Gunnar; and sister Elsa.
