Leningrad Cowboys

Leningrad Cowboys are a Finnish tongue in cheek phenomen band.

Created as a label under which the Finnish absurdist rock band Sleepy Sleepers[?] marketed their English language covers and concert extravaganzas.

This joke-piled-on-a-joke band has appeared in several films by Aki Kaurismäki such as Leningrad Cowboys Go America[?] (1989), and consequently enjoys cult success where his movies strike a chord.

They are best known for their rock concerts featuring the Ex-Soviet Red Army Choir.
