Lake Burtnieks

Lake Burtnieks is the fourth biggest lake in Latvia. It is a lake of running -water. The lake ground mainly is sandly, in places a little muddy.

middle depth: 2,2 m
maximum length: 13,3 km
maximum width: 5,5 km
banks descrption: shallow, sandly, in the South and SouthEast in places steep till 35 m high hillock, there are sandstone, outcrop.

island engaged area:1,4 hectares

In the SouthEast part of the lake there is sandstone rock.
The lake is rich in fishes, there are duck hunting places.
