Kurdistan Democratic Party

Redirected from Kurdish Democratic Party

The Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) is a Kurdish Iraqi opposition group led by Massoud Barzani. It is primarily a tribal and military group, based near Iraq's northern border with Turkey.

The KDP has jointly administered northern Iraq (which the Kurds call Kurdistan) with the rival Patriotic Union of Kurdistan since the Gulf War, protected by the northern Iraq No-Fly Zone.
