Hungarian writer, poet, Science Fiction editor.
After finishing high school he was studying at the University of Economy, Hungary while he was working in several jobs. He started writing after the end of the World War II and from 1940 he was an influential person in the Hungarian literature and culture.
His poetry was first printed in 1949 but after 1956 it he was not allowed to publish his poetry due to his political views and local political changes.
He got national prizes for his literature work in 1950 (József Attila díj) and 1954 (Kossuth díj).
He was the editor of Kozmosz Fantasztikus Könyvek (Cosmos Fantastic Books) series of books which was the first and still high quality science fiction source of Hungary.
He was the founder and editor of Galaktika, third largest Sci-Fi anthologies of the world, which had a definitive influence on the evolution of Hungarian science fiction literature.
He was the editor of the publisher Móra Ferenc könyvkiadó from 1976 which have been regarding quality more than quantity and thus was a very important media to help the literary education of the new generations of Hungarians.
