According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 79.5 km² (30.7 mi²). 78.9 km² (30.5 mi²) of it is land and 0.6 km² (0.2 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 0.75% water.

Demographics As of the census of 2000, there are 1,936 people, 564 households, and 465 families residing in the town. The population density is 24.5/km² (63.5/mi²). There are 592 housing units at an average density of 7.5/km² (19.4/mi²). The racial makeup of the town is 7.70% White, 0.00% African American, 0.52% Native American, 16.74% Asian, 43.49% Pacific Islander, 0.36% from other races, and 31.20% from two or more races. 4.75% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.

There are 564 households out of which 35.5% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 59.9% are married couples living together, 14.0% have a female householder with no husband present, and 17.4% are non-families. 14.5% of all households are made up of individuals and 4.4% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older.
