Kipnuk is a town located in Bethel Census Area, Alaska. As of the 2000 census, the population of the town is 644.

Geography Kipnuk is located at 59°56'15" North, 164°2'38" West (59.937619, -164.043926)1.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 50.8 km² (19.6 mi²). 50.2 km² (19.4 mi²) of it is land and 0.6 km² (0.2 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 1.22% water.

Demographics As of the census of 2000, there are 644 people, 137 households, and 122 families residing in the town. The population density is 12.8/km² (33.2/mi²). There are 154 housing units at an average density of 3.1/km² (7.9/mi²). The racial makeup of the town is 2.02% White, 0.00% African American, 96.58% Native American, 0.00% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.00% from other races, and 1.40% from two or more races. 0.00% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.

There are 137 households out of which 64.2% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 65.7% are married couples living together, 14.6% have a female householder with no husband present, and 10.9% are non-families. 10.2% of all households are made up of individuals and 2.9% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 4.70 and the average family size is 5.04.

In the town the population is spread out with 45.3% under the age of 18, 10.6% from 18 to 24, 25.9% from 25 to 44, 13.2% from 45 to 64, and 5.0% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 21 years. For every 100 females there are 130.0 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 120.0 males.

The median income for a household in the town is $34,375, and the median income for a family is $35,714. Males have a median income of $29,167 versus $23,333 for females. The per capita income for the town is $8,589. 20.9% of the population and 21.5% of families are below the poverty line. Out of the total people living in poverty, 26.7% are under the age of 18 and 19.2% are 65 or older.
