Demographics As of the census of 2000, there are 2,092 people, 692 households, and 519 families residing in the town. The population density is 538.5/km² (1,395.0/mi²). There are 743 housing units at an average density of 191.2/km² (495.5/mi²). The racial makeup of the town is 47.80% White, 0.67% African American, 0.57% Native American, 26.58% Asian, 6.21% Pacific Islander, 1.05% from other races, and 17.11% from two or more races. 7.12% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
There are 692 households out of which 43.8% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 53.2% are married couples living together, 16.0% have a female householder with no husband present, and 25.0% are non-families. 19.2% of all households are made up of individuals and 5.5% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 3.02 and the average family size is 3.42.
