Khukuri

Khukuri, also kukri, khukri, gorkha[?] knife, is a traditional knife of Nepal made by a kami (blacksmith). The leatherwork is usually done by a sarki.

Made famous by Gorkha[?] (Gurka) soldiers, but traditionally used in every home in every village for almost every task requiring a knife.

Crops were gathered, animals butchered, food cut up, rope cut, trees chopped, and every other common use for a blade.

Style and size varies with use, kami, and region.
