Kenedy County is a county located in the U.S. State of Texas. As of 2000, the population is 414. Its county seat is Sarita[?]6.

Geography According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 5,039 km² (1,946 mi²). 3,773 km² (1,457 mi²) of it is land and 1,266 km² (489 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 25.12% water.

Demographics As of the census of 2000, there are 414 people, 138 households, and 110 families residing in the county. The population density is 0/km² (0/mi²). There are 281 housing units at an average density of 0/km² (0/mi²). The racial makeup of the county is 64.49% White, 0.72% African American, 0.72% Native American, 0.48% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 31.88% from other races, and 1.69% from two or more races. 78.99% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.

There are 138 households out of which 35.50% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 58.70% are married couples living together, 10.90% have a female householder with no husband present, and 19.60% are non-families. 18.80% of all households are made up of individuals and 6.50% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.97 and the average family size is 3.26.

In the county, the population is spread out with 29.20% under the age of 18, 9.70% from 18 to 24, 26.30% from 25 to 44, 24.20% from 45 to 64, and 10.60% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 34 years. For every 100 females there are 110.20 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 100.70 males.

The median income for a household in the county is $25,000, and the median income for a family is $26,719. Males have a median income of $18,125 versus $12,188 for females. The per capita income for the county is $17,959. 15.30% of the population and 9.90% of families are below the poverty line. Out of the total people living in poverty, 15.60% are under the age of 18 and 18.80% are 65 or older.
