Karl Carstens

Karl Carstens was the fith President of Federal Repulik of Germany.

May 23, 1979: elected as the fifth President of the Federal Repulik of Germany
July 1, 1983: after a "konstruktives Mißtrauensvotum" Carstens decides the breakup of the Lower House of German Parliament and arranges new elections
May 23, 1984: Richard von Weizsäcker[?] becomes the elected successor of Karl Carstens
