Journey to work

The journey to work describes the mode used by, and the amount of time it takes, an individual to travel from home to work. This data is collected in many travel surveys and by the census every ten years in the United States. Modes and times vary by individual, and averages are different in different cities, in different neighborhoods within the same city, by age group, and by sex. Travel times vary by mode. Mode usages varies by distances as well. However, travel time doesn't vary that much across widely disparate areas, giving rise to the travel time budget[?] hypothesis.
