José Clemente Orozco

José Clemente Orozco (born 1883 in Ciudad Guzmán[?]; died 1949 in Mexico City) was a Mexican Social Realist painter specializing in murals. He studied in Mexico City at the San Carlos Academy[?].

One of his most famous murals is The Epic of American Civilization[?] at Dartmouth College. It was painted between 1932 and 1934 and covers over 3000 square feet. His other works include Prometheus (1930), Zapata (1930), and Christ Destroying His Cross[?] (1943).
