John Christopher Williams (born 1941) is regarded by some as the world's greatest living guitarist. He was born in Melbourne, Australia, and received his musical education in Siena, Italy. Later, he attended the Royal College of Music in London.

Williams is best known as a classical guitarist, but is also a jazz guitarist and a composer. He enjoyed a worldwide hit single with his recording of Cavatina, the theme tune to the Oscar-winning film, The Deerhunter[?].
