John Paul Stevens

John Paul Stevens (born April 20, 1920) is a justice on the Supreme Court of the United States.

Stevens was born in Chicago, Illinois. He attended the University of Chicago law school.

John Paul Stevens was nominated to the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit by President Richard Nixon, and took office on November 2, 1970. He was nominated to the Supreme Court by President Gerald Ford and took office as an associate justice on December 19, 1975.
