Jean-Charles Chapais (1811-1885) was a CanadianConservative politician, and a father of Canadian Confederation. He was Commissioner of Works in the Great Coalition of 1864 to 1867, and attended the Quebec City Conference. He later served as Minister of Agricultre and as Receiver General.
