ISO 7811

ISO 7811 is a set of 6 (7811-1 to 7811-6) standards describing the recording technique on identification cards.

It describes:

  • embossing[?], and especially the position of embossing characters on ID-1 cards
  • encoding technique on magnetic stripe[?]: description of the three tracks (ISO-1, ISO-2, ISO-3)
  • magnetic stripe standard coercivity[?] (Hi-co and Lo-co)
