1948 Arab-Israeli War
Iran-Iraq War (1980-1988)
the Gulf War (1990-1991), stemming from the Iraqi invasion of Kuwait (aka First Gulf War or Second Gulf War)
2003 Iraq war

in addition to internal conflicts which have involved governmental overthrow.
