Iowa Colony is a village located in Brazoria County, Texas. As of the 2000 census, the village had a total population of 804.

Geography Iowa Colony is located at 29°26'35" North, 95°24'56" West (29.442963, -95.415607)1.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 14.9 km² (5.8 mi²). 14.9 km² (5.8 mi²) of it is land and 0.17% is water.

Demographics As of the census of 2000, there are 804 people, 279 households, and 219 families residing in the village. The population density is 53.9/km² (139.7/mi²). There are 302 housing units at an average density of 20.2/km² (52.5/mi²). The racial makeup of the village is 73.01% White, 6.72% African American, 0.12% Native American, 7.34% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 11.19% from other races, and 1.62% from two or more races. 25.12% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.

There are 279 households out of which 35.1% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 65.2% are married couples living together, 9.0% have a female householder with no husband present, and 21.5% are non-families. 19.0% of all households are made up of individuals and 4.7% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.88 and the average family size is 3.29.

In the village the population is spread out with 28.0% under the age of 18, 7.5% from 18 to 24, 29.9% from 25 to 44, 24.5% from 45 to 64, and 10.2% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 36 years. For every 100 females there are 103.0 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 99.7 males.

The median income for a household in the village is $47,019, and the median income for a family is $50,000. Males have a median income of $40,313 versus $28,500 for females. The per capita income for the village is $18,935. 6.1% of the population and 6.6% of families are below the poverty line. Out of the total people living in poverty, 3.7% are under the age of 18 and 15.2% are 65 or older.
