Instructional design

Instructional Design is the analysis of training needs and systematic development of instruction. Instructional design lays out a methodology[?], that if followed will facilitate the transfer of knowledge, skills[?] and attitude[?] to the recipient or acquirer of the training or instruction.

There are a variety of instructional design models to choose from, but one of the most recognized is the ADDIE model. Use the acronym when referring to this model and know that it stands for:

  • analysis
  • design
  • develop
  • implement
  • evaluate
