Indy Racing League

The Indy Racing League (IRL) is an open-wheel racing circuit in the United States. Among the races it sponsors is the Indianapolis 500. The IRL began in 1994 and is owned by Hulman and Co. who also own the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. The IRL was crated with a break-away group of drivers from CART who coordinated Indycar racing since 1979.
