India Pale Ale

India Pale Ale, more often called IPA, is a highly hopped medium colored ale. It originated when beer was shipped from Great Britain to British troops in India. To help the beer survive the long journey by ship, extra hops were added helping preserve beer and giving it a slightly bitter taste.
